    Description
    1974 Pontiac Trans Am
The sporty Firebird was Pontiac's answer to the Ford Mustang and Chevrolet Camaro. The car combined an available big V8 with aggressive, attention-grabbing styling and delivered it in a relatively practical four-passenger package. Like its pony-car competitors, the rear-wheel-drive Firebird offered tire-smoking power and impressive acceleration. The F-body platform on which it and the Camaro were based, was Pontiac's iconic speed machine.
What happens when we take the best year of the Trans Am, put a big V8 engine in it, throw on a 4-barrel carburetor, back it up with a Muncie M22 4-speed manual transmission, put a screaming chicken logo on the hood, and bathe the car in White? You get a one owner, numbers matching, original unrestored car with low mileage to boot! Ordered new by the consignor and garaged all its life with all the proper documentation to go along with it including original bill of sale, order sheet and keys and key tabs. Even the decals are original!
    Exterior
With its original paint which presents in fair condition, with no rust, just some fading, and numerous small scratches throughout, you need to keep in mind we are speaking of an all original car. It has straight panels, plastic wheel well flares, and a front and rear spoiler setup. With its sleek sloping rear, front quarter air intakes, and scooped hood, it's easy to see why this was THE year Trans Am to have. Throw on a foursome of Rally 2 wheels, some sticky Goodrich radial T/A's, a dual headlight setup within a split front grille, and we are rockkin'. Also noted is the flaring are slightly discolored form the body color, and black inset bumpers have some scratching probably from encounters in parking lots. Last but not least the original screaming chicken decal in blue two tone spreads its wings around the scoop.
    Interior
A swing of the doors and we are in black vinyl land. Buckets upfront and a 2+2 bench tin the rear, they have good padding, and the drivers bucket has a longitudinal tear in the seat area. A center console races toward the dash, has a storage compartment between the seats, and houses a T shaped Hurst shifter. Looking toward the dash we see more black, but here it frames a spun pattern aluminum panel which stretches across the drivers area, and makes a home for the gauge cluster. Noted is the odometer which consigner contains the original mileage of 48,665 miles. A factory AM/FM radio is fitted nicely just under the dash. Looking down we see good black carpet with rubber floor mats preserving it. This car has air conditioning and a rear defogger installed. A last shout out to the trunk which is covered with original patterned vinyl, showing some soiling with original jack and space saver spare tire.
    Drivetrain
A pop of the hood and we are met with an unrestored original matching numbers 400ci V8, with a 4-barrel carb atop, and a Muncie M22 4-speed manual transmission. Overall a nice patina shows, but remember it is original and numbers matching!
    Undercarriage
As we would expect minor areas of surface rust, but all structurally sound and obviously was kept in a dry location...Did I mention a garaged its entire life?
Unrestored, an overall nice 1 owner, numbers matching, low mileage car, a desired year, and plenty of power to boot...or put your boot into!
