Early 80's Motobecane Team Champon Frameset

Offered for sale is one of the finest steel French racing bicycle framesets ever crafted:
1981(?) Motobecane Team Champion frameset is ready for you to build up the way you want it, for the way you like to ride.
Seat tube length measures 61cm (24”) center-to-top, and 59cm (23.25”) center-to-center. Top tube has typical “French fit” at 57cm (22.5”) center-to-center.
The original silver-blue paint glows like it did when it was new. That isn’t to say the paint is perfect after 40 years, but it is very, very nice.
There are a number of small chips and scuffs as noted in the photos, the worst of which are probably the cable rub marks on the head tube. This means you won't have to worry about actually riding this thing. There are no dents, cracks or bends anywhere. There is no bubbling paint anywhere, although the serial number must have been stamped after the frame was painted at the factory.
A kickstand was never fitted. The long-point windowed lugs are gorgeous. The lug brazing and finishing are gorgeous. The chrome is gorgeous. The original Campagnolo NR headset is gorgeous, and spins like buttah.
It has a 108mm Sugino bottom bracket installed. Front dropouts are chromed Campy, rears appear unmarked (Simplex?). Rear triangle spacing measures 127mm.
Curiously there is no head badge or Motobecane script on the frame, but the Team Champion graphics are nice and crisp. There appear to be witness marks from some seat tube stripes, but they will likely come off with some polishing. I decided not to rub out or touch up the paint, to let the buyer decide how to proceed with that. It really doesn’t need anything more than a good polishing to be stunning.
