BUILT-IN TAMPER RESISTANT SHUTTERS IN OUTLET
Tamper resistant shutters to keep children from electrocution, making your home a safer place. Shutter mechanism inside the receptacle blocks access to the contacts unless a two-or-three-prong plug is inserted, helping ensure hairpins, keys, etc., can't be inserted in.
Please note: Tamper resistant receptacles have a safety gate in the outlet to prevent unwanted objects being inserted. The outlet can be a bit difficult to plug into the first few times. This will become easier after long-time use.

After installation, please press the RESET button fully to restore power to the GFCI outlet. The RESET button should stay in. The LED indicator will illuminate green in color.
The GFCI outlet only accept 12 or 14 AWG solid copper or copper-clad wire.
Do not install this GFCI outlet on a circuit that powers life support equipment because if the GFCI trips it will shut down the equipment.
For outdoor use or in damp/wet locations, please choose Weather Resistant (marked with WR) GFCI outlet and install it with a weather-proof outlet cover that will keep both the outlet and plug face dry.
