Description
The iconic Fisher CR-7 was a ground breaker in combining two dissimilar metals using the vertically compliant steel for the rear triangle and the front fork, with a laterally stiff aluminum main triangle. The steel rear is bolted onto the main frame. It was Designed by Gary Fisher and made in Japan in 1989. I also heard that Richard Cunningham had something to do with the design of this bike, and that the “CR” in CR-7 come from his initials backwards.
This frame has won its share of awards and is widely regarded as one of the best, most innovative mountain bikes of its time.
This particular frame has a few paint chips on the purple aluminum front triangle but no dents or deep scratches. In fact, with a new coat of paint I think this bike could look brand new. The steel fork and rear end are in excellent condition with no dents or deep scratches either. Restoring this bike would be a piece of cake considering the steel rear end can be unbolted to paint/work on each part separately. The headset and bottom bracket are both in excellent condition too. I wanted to restore the bike myself but I just don’t have the time to take on another project. These bikes are ultra hard to find because the people that have them usually don’t want to sell them. The rest of the original Fisher and XT 21-speed components are also available so feel free to ask about them if you’re interested.
I’ll also throw in the original Fisher saddle and seat post.
